Before you read this blog i would like to say that I don't mean to offend anyone nor had I bad intentions in writing this blog.
Towards the end of last year i had been informed by my superiors that there is a project located in Saudi Arabia that would require me to be there on site for long periods of time. They asked me if i had any objections. The situation caused me to pause and think deeply. Being of the Christian faith I had some concerns because i had heard about the commission that deals with directing people to prayer at prayer time among other activities. Watching the Kingdom movie at that time wasn't the best thing. I needed some guidance and advice from colleagues before taking a decision. I consulted a friend of mine whom his opinion i trust who has been going to KSA for a long time and I asked him about the situation. He told me that there is nothing to be afraid of, it would be a change in my life style as many things are prohibited but allĀ in all there won't be any complications and things would go smoothly. It relieved me and bearing in mind the financial incentive of traveling i decided to accept doing the project.
At the moment i am writing this blog from Riyadh. Having been here 2 months now, i have to say that many things that have been going through my head were over exaggerated and there was no need for my concerns. Riyadh is probably one of the nicest capitals i have been to. The people are easy to talk to although their dialect is sometimes hard to understand. A person must only manage himself and arrange things according to prayer time and things would go smoothly.
